Your Options for Replacing a Lost Hearing Aid
One-time loss and damage replacement within the First Year:
Most manufacturers will offer a one-time replacement device if you have lost your device within the first year of purchase
This replacement device will incur an excess fee
You will need to feel a Statutory Declaration stating:
How you lost your hearing aid
Where you lost your hearing aid
When you lost your hearing aid
Which hearing aid you lost (i.e., left, right or both)
Through your Insurer
If you have insured your hearing aids, you may be able to make a claim for lost hearing aids
As each insurer has difference processes, it is best to contact them if you are unsure on what to do
If you are a Pensioner
Arrange an appointment with us to obtain a Statutory Declaration (Stat Dec)
On the Stat Dec state the following to the best of your ability:
How you lost your hearing aid
Where you lost your hearing aid
When you lost your hearing aid
Which hearing aid you lost (i.e., left, right or both)
Get the Stat Dec signed by an appropriate professional (e.g., Justice of Peace, Family GP or Pharmacist)
Return the Stat Dec to us, you will have to pay a small replacement hearing aid fee of $46.15 (as of 2024)

How Long Does It Take To Receive a Replacement Hearing Aid?
The length depends on what type of hearing aid you have lost.
Typically a Behind The Ear hearing aid will be replaced within the week while a In The Ear hearing aid may take up to 2 weeks.
What Do I Do While Waiting For My Replacement Hearing Aid?
We encourage you to wear your previous set or back up set of hearing aids.
If you do not have any spare hearing aids, we will offer you a choice of a loan aid to wear while you wait.
