Am I Eligible?

  • Have you worked in an area with high noise exposure in NSW (e.g., manufacturing, construction or any work involving ear protection) ?
  • Do you have hearing difficulty or a known hearing loss ? 

 

If you answer YES to the above, you may be entitled to a industrial deafness claim

What to Expect From a Work Cover Claim

  1. Book an appointment with Adaptive Hearing and we’ll do a comprehensive Hearing Test
  2. A report of your hearing test that calculates your “percentage of hearing loss” will be forwarded to the lawyers with your consent
  3. You will be contacted by the lawyers to start the claim process
  4. You will be directed to get further assessment by an ENT (organised by the lawyers)
  5. You will be contacted with the outcome of the claim
 
 

Frequently Asked Questions

What am I entitled to if a claim is successful?

Compensation usually involves a lump sum payment or a pair of hearing aids or possibly both. 

Am I taking legal action against my former employer ?

No you are not, you are claiming against the insurer of your former employer (your employer paid insurance while you were working there).

How long does it take ?

The overall process may take several months . It depends heavily on ENT appointment availability.

Do I have to visit the lawyer’s office?

You will not need to visit their office. The lawyers will contact you by telephone and email correspondence. 

How many appointments do I need to attend?

In total you need to attend 2 appointments, the first with us, the second with the ENT. The rest of the work will be taken care by us and the lawyers.
